Membership
There are three branches of Membership in
the Malheur Field Station -Friends of Malheur Membership, Institutional
Membership and Consortium Membership.
Friends of Malheur (FOM) Membership
is applicable to individuals and families,
Institutional Membership is set
up for organizations, and
Consortium Membership is reserved
for universities and colleges.
Volunteerism
We have a
strong volunteer program at the Malheur Field Station. Volunteers are
very important to us. Great care is taken in matching particular
volunteer talents with needed projects and tasks. We receive Volunteers
both on an individual level or as a group. Groups may consist of
informal gathering of friends or colleagues or more organized groups
such as scouts, outdoor clubs, or organizations specializing in service
programs. Please ask us about our volunteer opportunities and policies
regarding room and board. Upon contact, you will be sent a form to fill
out regarding your particular talents, skill levels, and availability.

Monetary Giving The
Great Basin Society is a nonprofit 501 (C)(3) public charity and as such
a monetary donation to the Malheur Field Station is tax-exempt.
Monetary Donations are greatly appreciated throughout the year. MFS
also holds special fund drives, including Bird-a-thon events, a Quilt
Raffle, and an Annual Appeal. Please contact us for further
information.
Material Donation
The Malheur Field Station does have
a need for material items in good condition and working order. Material
donations can play an important role in improving our facilities and aid
in keeping operational costs lower- an indirect benefit to our education
programs. Please contact us for a current list of needed items, to ask
about the usefulness of your potential donations, or to let us know if
you could offer assistance in the transportation of items to the Field
Station.
