The Malheur Field Station offers a range of educational programs for participants of various ages and experience levels.  We seek the highest level of educational experience - instructors are highly qualified and our classes are size-limited.
 

MFS Elderhostel Programs Elderhostel programs have been offered at and by the staff of the Malheur Field Station for over twenty years.  We specialize in intense customized field-oriented courses with strong educational emphasis and value.  These programs are offered to participants 55+ years of age.

MFS Workshops  Our workshops are designed for the curious and passionate student.  They are based around two intense full days in the field and are of various subjects.  They offer great educational value, taught by highly qualified instructors, and are open to all experience levels.

MFS Naturalist Services  The Malheur Field Station offers this unique service  of customized educational On-site presentations or Off-site outings for groups of various size and ages.  Specialties include birds (from beginning Birdwatching to advanced Avian Biology), wildlife, regional geology, local flora, and field sketching/wildlife illustration.  Additional subjects can be provided.  Contact MFS for further options and to schedule this service for your upcoming visit.

MFS Accredited Courses  Our courses, accredited through Pacific University, are intense field-oriented, 2-3 week long classes.  They are held during summer session.  Currently there are no scheduled classes - please check back later.
